Will you join us on our journey? We are seeking a Materials Manager to help us continue our successful trend in the global cheese and nutrition markets through quality of product and food safety at our Tracy, California production facility.
ResponsibilitiesThe Manager I, Materials provides guidance, direction, and oversight for shipping and receiving of finished goods, ingredients, and packaging materials, including milk scheduling, cream load out schedule, and condensed whey load out scheduling.
In addition, the Manager I, Materials monitors and maintains all warehouse areas in the plant, not limited to development of warehouse budget and team members.
Position responsibilities are in the following functional areas:
general warehouse management, production scheduling, and employee relations.
We Ask of You:
Provides leadership in the Materials department by implementing and maintaining programs in technical training, safety, quality, communications, performance recognition, and internal employee development to drive peak employee productivity.
Responsible for outlining and managing the work of the Supervisors in the department.
Leads the processes for performance management, employee development, and engagement.
Builds and fosters strong working relationships, collaborative teams and a positive work environment.
Implements company and plant policies fairly and consistently.
Maintains product and supply inventory levels within Corporate/Regional guidelines and manages the availability of product and adequate rotation of product quality purposes.
Responsible for managing, monitoring, and coordinating ingredient and packaging materials as well as non-stock items to maintain production operations.
Monitors daily inventory of milk and cream, and develops and schedules shipments of both condensed whey and sweet cream.
Coordinates, monitors, and negotiates external materials services for the plant.
Manages the scheduling and coordination of production to meet customer demands.
Manages finished product inventories, the upkeep of the storage freezer, and the coordination of product shipments.
Manages the Materials department budget within established guidelines, meeting financial objectives.
Maintains inventory controls and efficiencies in alignment with budgetary and corporate standards.
Effectively negotiates advantageous contracts for plant-specific services.
Leads the Materials department's safety program to ensure a safe working environment.
Provides employees with the training, equipment, and tools to be able to safely perform their jobs.
Sets standards for safety involvement and accountability in the department and leads by example.
Manages the department's quality systems to achieve quality goals.
Manages the sanitation program effectiveness, as it relates to the Materials department, to ensure food safety standards are met.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment:
Works in both the plant production environment which requires walking, climbing, standing and in an office environment which requires standing and sitting.
This position is expected to spend time out on the production floor observing operations and interacting with employees.
May be required to occasionally independently move and handle objects up to 25 pounds.
You Have (Minimum Qualifications):
College Degree in Logistics, Warehouse Management or related field, or equivalent work experience.

years of experience in food manufacturing materials management environment, additional education may substitute experience where applicable 2
years of progressive leadership experience Proficient computer knowledge, with familiarity or ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing computer systems We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
