Perform first piece approval inspections, and final inspections of rubber products.
May include the inspection of purchased parts, manufactured parts/areas, finished goods, and completing required process audits.
The inspection criteria will be based upon blueprint specifications, quality check sheets, special notes, and departmental procedures to assure product quality.
The Quality Technician may support the completion of customer required certificates of conformance, labeling, and initialing final product, verifying quantity of customer orders, and working as a team toward immediate and long-term solutions.
PRIMARY ESSENTIAL
Responsibilities:
The Quality Technician's primary responsibilities are:
Adhere and promote the plants Rule of Five Safety, Quality, People Development, Production, Housekeeping - all driven by the customer.
Actively participates and motivates team members to actively participate in initiatives that promote cost improvements and other growth initiatives.
Responsible for visual examination and sampling techniques for conformity with established quality standards and systems for both in-process materials and finished goods.
Assist with investigating and responding to customer quality complaints and ensures the proper action is taken, if necessary, to correct and prevent problems Verify that product specifications are met by measurement verification as required with tape measure, hardness tester, or calipers.
Responsible for communicating quality issues and updating the company on key quality indicators.
Quarantine and label all products and materials that fail to meet product specifications.
Communicate inspection results to the Team Leader, Quality Dept.
and/or Shift Supervisor.
Assist in the completion of audits to support the company's quality and safety initiatives.
Participate in continuous improvement and/or training (including cross-training) for the production team members and staff.

Requires the ability to visually identify color differences in raw materials/ finished parts to check material for contamination or consistency (process of elimination through visual and microscopic investigation Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS High School or GED.
required; Bachelor's degree in Chemistry; Industrial Engineering, or related fields, preferred.
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality related role.
Proficient in using measuring tools tape measure, calipers, rulers, gages, and micrometers.
Proficient with Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications.
Ability to keep accurate records.
Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good spoken and written English is a must; bi-lingual in Spanish and/or Laotian speaking ability is preferred.
