What You Will Do:
Reporting to the Manager of Inventory Control, the Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of the team supporting Distribution operations at Peet's.
This role is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy at multiple warehouses, including 3PL warehouses, by coordinating cycle counts, verifying locations, monitoring transactions and ensuring adequate processes are in place to support that work.
Monitor, track, correct and report inventory transaction errors Monitor inventory trends and identify financial risks (i.
e.
aging or slow-moving inventory) and opportunities with inventory Establish or improve current process flows to enhance inventory transaction accuracy Analyze inventory structure; recommend and support actions to improve inventory turns Lead initiatives related to improved accuracy, inventory waste reduction, supplier recovery, FEFO, E&O, etc.
Support weekly/monthly cycle counting and year end physical inventory processes; Review data and suggest process improvements to ensure high accuracy levels.
Support cost accounting team and standard costing activities Support monthly accounting closing processes Identify aging inventory and with Inventory Control Manager, escalate to business channels to discuss options for secondary sale/donation/disposal Coordinate the disposition of aged inventory through donation or destruction, including the identification of recipient, scheduling of pick-up, creating inventory journals, and the preparation, reporting, and retention of appropriate documentation; Submit documentation to Inventory Finance Coordinate the rework of product damaged during handling from the removal of inventory to the recouping/repacking of salvageable product to the return to inventory; Ensure appropriate transactions are completed and damages are reported.
Report any issues to the Inventory Control Manager.
Participate in and support internal/external project teams As needed, support training on warehouse processes that impact on inventory accuracy Perform cycle counts as established by facility management, assist in resolution of discrepancies, and report results in timely manner for adjustment of inventory records.
Run shelf life reports and makes adjustments per QA direction.
Research problems and questions as requested.
Other tasks as necessary.
Who You Are:
Prior experience in a Manufacturing or Distribution Operations environment is required A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Inventory Management/Supply Chain/Cost Accounting roles is highly desirable Strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills Ability to gather, analyze, and report data and trends Ability to proactively anticipate issues, analyze discrepancies, provide recommendations, and implement resolutions and improvements.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with broad, cross-functional business partners Previous ERP systems experience is required, Microsoft D365 or Dynamic AX experience a plus Advanced Excel is required and financial modeling proficiency highly desirable What Benefits do Peetniks Receive?
