As an HR Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department with various tasks.
The ideal candidate should be a conceptual thinker, adept at organizational management, and proficient in time management.
Reliability is key, as you will be responsible for accurately following instructions and juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
HR Assistant
Responsibilities:
Act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
Maintain digital and electronic records of employees, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
Engage with benefit vendors and administrators to ensure seamless benefits administration for employees.
Assist in the recruitment process by identifying potential candidates, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment contracts.
Manage and maintain the calendars of the HR management team.
Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Support performance management procedures and activities.
Coordinate and schedule various HR events, including meetings, interviews, and training sessions.
Conduct new employee orientations and update records for new staff.
Generate and submit reports on general HR activities as required.
Process payroll and proactively resolve any payroll-related discrepancies.
Handle termination paperwork and conduct exit interviews with departing employees.
Stay informed about the latest HR trends and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement in HR processes.
HR Assistant Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Assistant.
Familiarity with labor laws and employment equity regulations.
Demonstrated proficiency in HR administration and people management.
Exposure to payroll practices.
Thorough understanding of HR functions and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Highly proficient in using email, MS Office, and other business and communication tools.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to accurately follow instructions and execute tasks efficiently.
